The President of the Republic of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, listed the 10 main components of the African countries’ peace plan. Writes about this “Kommersant”.

Thus, the following points were made:

The conflict must be resolved peacefully;

Peace negotiations must begin as soon as possible;

De-escalation is needed on both sides;

The sovereignty of states and peoples must be ensured in accordance with the UN Charter;

Security guarantees are needed for all countries;

The movement of grain and fertilizers from both countries must be ensured;

It is necessary to provide humanitarian support to the victims;

The question of the exchange of prisoners and the return of children must be settled;

“Post-war reconstruction” must be ensured;

Closer cooperation with African countries.

Earlier today, a delegation of seven African countries presented a peace plan to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. He stressed that peace talks are possible only after Russia withdraws its troops.
