The body of 58-year-old deputy Alexander Kolodich from Yugra was found in the basement of a private house in New Moscow, TASS reports citing a law enforcement source.
It is noted that traces of a violent death were found on the body of a man. Kolodich’s wife was found in the house itself. The woman was taken to hospital with stab wounds.
“A worker who helped to monitor the site was detained on suspicion of murder,” a source from the agency said.
As KP reports with reference to the Main Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Moscow Region, a criminal case has been opened on the fact of the murder of Kolodich and the attempted murder of his wife.
According to investigators, a conflict arose between the men, during which the assistant wounded the deputy, after which the man died. Kolodich’s wife came running to the screams, then the worker attacked her with a knife. Trying to hide the traces of the crime, the assistant buried the body of the deputy. Then he fled from the scene of the crime.
The man told his brother about what had happened, and he contacted the son of the deceased.
