A Muscovite who sprayed pepper spray during a performance of Swan Lake at the Mariinsky Theater was arrested for a week. This was reported by the United Press Service of the Courts of St. Petersburg.
The Oktyabrsky District Court of St. Petersburg brought to administrative responsibility a resident of Moscow, Elena Bogdanchikova, for committing an offense. She was sentenced to administrative arrest for a period of seven days.
The defender, without disputing the fact that Bogdanchikova used pepper spray, noted that the woman had “strong emotional excitement”, which was caused by a conflict with the audience of the performance due to the use of the phone while watching.
The daughter of a Muscovite was interrogated as a witness. She noted that they watched the performance through smartphones to enlarge the image, as they did not see the stage well from the 17th row. In turn, the theater employee asked not to shoot the ballet, after which the man sitting next to her hit her mother on the shoulder, and the spectator snatched her phone from behind. According to the witness, her mother sprayed the can in self-defense.
On the eve it was reported that a woman sprayed tear gas at the Mariinsky Theater. As a result, three people sought medical help.
