Hellas Verona overcame Spezia this Sunday afternoon, by 3-1, at the Mapei Stadium, and got rid of relegation to the second division of the Italian Championship. The game was valid for a playoff to know who would remain in the elite and who would be relegated.
The Verona team had finished Serie A inside the relegation zone, in 18th place, with 31 points. Spezia, on the other hand, was one position above, with the same score. Therefore, the Italian Federation chose to promote a decisive confrontation between the two.
With the result, Spezia ends up returning to the Italian second division after three seasons. The team rose to the national elite in 2020, but in all the remaining years it fought not to fall.
