If you recognize oncology at an early stage, there is a chance of defeating this disease. However, in some cases, people mistakenly take the first symptoms for signs of less serious conditions, explains Andrey Vorobyov, an oncologist, writes MedikForum.
He listed non-obvious signs of colon, cervix and liver cancer.
For example, bowel cancer can be accompanied by persistent abdominal pain, bloating, cramping, and changes in bowel function such as constipation, diarrhea, or looser stools. Blood in the stool and the urge to empty the bowels even after a recent stool, weight loss, the doctor added, should also alert.
According to him, the symptoms of liver cancer are often associated with digestive problems. These included nausea, vomiting, lighter stools, darker urine and feeling full after eating small amounts of food, swelling in the upper right abdomen, pain in that area, and bloating not caused by eating. In addition, symptoms include pain in the right shoulder, unintentional weight loss, loss of appetite, fatigue, fever, and feeling unwell.
The “silent killer” is called cervical cancer. It can often only be detected with a cervical screening test. However, Vorobyov urged attention to the presence of symptoms such as vaginal bleeding between periods, during or after sex and after menopause, more heavy periods, changes in vaginal discharge, pain during sex, and pain in the lower back, lower abdomen and pelvic area.
