The invitation to calamity, the logic of frustration, the systematic denial of possibility, and carefully cultivated pessimism constitute, with rare exceptions, the predominant markers in the feelings, ideas, and beliefs of Latin American peoples. These labels burden what is told and how it is said, what is invented and how it is invented; It is in what is done and how it is done.

The invitation to doom and the defeat complex are cultivated by malevolent talent. They are the explanation of many “stories”. They are in the psychological infrastructure of a society that, despite everything, is progressing, but with a deep sense of guilt and sin, abandonment and exploitation. He is guilty of nothing and everything.

What is written, with exceptions that stand out for their own sake, enthusiastically revolves around calls for misfortune and the syndrome of resentment, not always looking for the beauty of words, nor the truth of thoughts. It promotes pessimism, mistrust of others and often enthusiasm for leaders and redeemers.

Chronicles, articles, books, news, poems, political speeches, with rare exceptions, encroach on the profession of misfortune. That’s the only truth? Why is disappointment and the belief that we have no way out strengthened in such a way? It is true that we are facing a complex, dramatic reality, but even in such circumstances it is possible to save holes of joy, positive notes, spaces of enthusiasm, hidden truths and different visions that feed human lives. It is always possible to support the feelings that enable the one who sows to dream, the one who learns to build castles in the air, and the one who commits and takes risks to make plans. It is always possible to smile.

Either we continue to practice calling for misfortune, or we raise our enthusiasm and fight with frustrations…

When the world and the country seem to be collapsing, it’s hard to resist pessimism. It is easier and more “popular” to recount the accident in detail, to complain, to revel in blood and tears, to imagine more tragedy within the tragedy, to darken the horizon until the inauguration of collective blindness, to promote the failure of intelligence and, in this way, to strengthen the options that are bet to anger and hatred. It is difficult, but not impossible, to think differently, look at yourself from a different angle, open your hand, let go of the stone and even offer it to the opponent.

The accident call is there as a stone witness, but it should not be eternal. That is not the only plot of the story. It must not be an insurmountable burden or justification for eternal weeping. This cannot be the logic of life. It is proof that despite everything we survive and move forward. In each other’s mirror we see our faces, our dramas and struggles, our children’s lives, joys and strength. There will always be a smile, an illusion, a landscape in the background, a rest of peace anywhere.

Either we continue to practice inviting unhappiness, or we raise our enthusiasm and fight against frustrations, denials and regrets. What are we betting on? (OR)
