China supports Europe in the need to resolve the conflict in Ukraine and considers it necessary to “find the origins,” said Li Hui, China’s Special Representative for Eurasian Affairs, who heads the country’s delegation for the settlement.
Following a meeting with German Foreign Ministry spokesman Andreas Michaelis, Li Hui said that “all parties need to start with themselves and create favorable conditions for the resumption of peace talks by building mutual trust,” the Chinese Foreign Ministry said. The statement also stressed that China “supports European countries to start from the root causes of the crisis, seek solutions to both symptoms and root causes, and make efforts to ensure long-term stability on the European continent.”
Recall that China sent a diplomat for “in-depth consultations with all parties on a political settlement of the Ukrainian crisis.” The first side of the trip was Ukraine. Li Hui then visited Poland, France and Germany. The Chinese special envoy will arrive in Russia on Friday, May 26.
