COE of Ambato resolves free vehicular mobility and hours of attention and capacity in commercial premises

Measures were adopted based on the reports presented on the pandemic by the Ministry of Public Health (MSP).

In the session of the Ambato cantonal Emergency Operations Committee (COE) that was held on Wednesday, November 24, some resolutions were adopted.

Among the main resolutions, the local board decided to maintain the yellow epidemiological traffic light next December and enable free vehicle mobility 24 hours a day.

The maximum capacity of 75% was also set for activities such as cafeterias, food stores, shopping centers, masses, cinemas, entertainment and tourist sites, while the opening hours were set from Monday to Thursday until 11:59 p.m. while on Saturdays and Fridays maximum at 01:00.

In a statement it was reported that the resolutions were adopted based on the reports presented by the Ministry of Public Health (MSP) in accordance with the statistical table of infections and the progress of the vaccination plan.

In this sense, according to the report of the Health and prehospital care table, cut off to November 21, in Ambato a total of 12,249 cases of coronavirus are reported, 43 new infected in relation to the previous week that were 14, that is, , 29 more than the penultimate week. That represents an average increase of 6.14%.

This increase in cases is attributed to the mobilizations and citizen relaxation of sanitary measures during the last holidays that have elapsed in the national territory.

Regarding vaccination, in the Ambato canton there are 75.1% of inoculated people; 269,902 over 18 years old; 13,577 of 16 and 17 years old; 27,472 from 12 to 15 years old; and 47,402 from 5 to 11 years old. (I)
