In the St. Petersburg art space mArs (Marsovo Pole, 3) on Tuesday, May 16, the philosopher Alexander Sekatsky will hold a meeting “The fate of words and things: an alternative view of the problem of communication.” The event will be held as part of the project “Kvartirnik”. The start is at 19:00.

Alexander Sekatsky is a publicist, writer, TV presenter, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences (dissertation “Ontology of Lies”), Associate Professor of the Department of Social Philosophy and Philosophy of History, St. Petersburg State University. He is a member of the Union of Journalists and the Union of Writers of Russia, host of the program Night on the Fifth.
The area of scientific interests of Alexander Sekatsky is the metaphysics of lies, the problem of historical time, philosophical espionage, the philosophy of seduction, the history of sensibility. He is the author of more than 500 publications, was awarded the Second Navigation Prize of the St. Petersburg Philosophical Society in the nomination “For Philosophical Investment in the Cultural Life of St. Petersburg”, which implies an active presence in the media: political articles, interviews, reviews, critical texts about works of fine art ( 2002).
Alexander Sekatsky was also awarded the St. Petersburg State University Prize for Teaching Excellence (2008), the Andrei Bely Prize (2008) and Nikolai Gogol Prize (2009).
