The file of the case, published on the website of the Leninsky District Court of the city, says that Skorobogatov is suspected of committing sabotage. This article provides for a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison for “committing an explosion, arson or other actions aimed at destroying or damaging enterprises, structures, transport infrastructure and vehicles, <…> if these actions are committed in order to undermine the economic security and (or) defense capability of the Russian Federation by a group of persons by prior agreement or by an organized group. The fact that the case is connected with the arson of the Su-24 is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the administration of the judicial department in the Novosibirsk region.
The burning of the Su-24 became known in early May. The aircraft was stored without engines at the aircraft factory’s flight test station.
