He Supervisory Agency for Investment in Energy and Mining (Osinergmin) updated the price offer available in the Facilito app for the start of the sale of Regular and Premium fuels throughout the country.
As recalled, as of May 1, taps and service stations will only be able to sell Regular and Premium gasoline and gasoholes, so the 90, 95 and 97 octane presentations will be forgotten.
“We have carried out an update. Reinstall the application to view the taps that have Regular and Premium fuels,” Osinergmin said on his social networks.
In the case of 84 octane, there will be an additional period of validity. According to Supreme Decree No. 018-2022-EM, 84 Gasohol may be sold nationwide until December 2023, while 84 gasoline may be found until June 2024 in Amazonas, Loreto, Madre de Dios and San Martín.
Regular and Premium: how is gasohol and gasoline different?
The difference between gasoline and gasohol is not always clear. Gasohol is 92.2% gasoline to which 7.8% fuel alcohol is added to increase octane performance and make it less polluting. By law, its sale is mandatory throughout the country.
However, alcohol is an isopropyl substance that does not react well in the jungle, due to its high level of humidity. For this reason, the sale of gasoholes is not endorsed in the easternmost cities of Peru.
