Nottingham Forest beats Brighton with Danilo’s goal and leaves the relegation zone

This Wednesday, Danilo, formerpalm trees, scored his first goal wearing a Nottingham Forest shirt. By the 33rd round of the English Championship, the Brazilian’s team drew 1-1 with Brighton, until Danilo turned in the 23rd minute of the second half. Morgan Gibbs-White still extended to close the game at 3 to 1.

With the first victory in twelve games, Nottingham Forest rises to 17th place, with 30 points, and is the first team outside the relegation zone. However, the result does not give the team much breath, since the difference for the 18th, Leicester City, is only one point.

Danilo arrived in English football in January 2023, midway through the European season. When he joined Nottingham, the team was already fighting against relegation in the Premier League.

The midfielder joined former teammate Gustavo Scarpa, but both had an irregular start. During the season, the players were starters, substitutes and even left out of the related list for some matches. Recently, Danilo regained the starting position.

Nottingham Forest returns to the field this Saturday, at 11 am (Brasília time), to face Brentford, away from home, for the 34th round of the Premier League.
