A rocket fired from Syrian territory exploded in the sky over Jordan. It is reported by RBC with reference to the Petra agency.

“At 22:25 local time on Saturday, a rocket exploded in the air in the Wadi Akraba area adjacent to the border with Syria, which led to the fall of its debris in the same area,” a source in the Jordanian Air Force General Command said.

As a result of the rocket explosion, no one was injured, no damage was recorded. The Jordanian armed forces continue to monitor the situation in the area. The Al-Hadath TV channel also reported that one of the missiles launched from Syrian territory hit Jordanian airspace, citing the Jordanian army.

In total, three missiles were launched from Syrian territory, one of which hit Israeli territory and fell in the southern part of the Golan Heights, the Israeli army (IDF) said. No damage or casualties were reported.

Later, three more rockets were launched from Syrian territory towards Israel, one of them was intercepted, the IDF said. The Israeli military responded by launching drone strikes on launchers in Syria.

The Al-Quds Brigade, a Palestinian-Syrian group, claimed responsibility for the missile launches against Israel. The militants called it a response to clashes on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.

On April 5, Palestinians clashed with Israeli police at the Al-Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount, who tried to take out people who had barricaded themselves inside the mosque, allegedly preparing to riot. In response, the Palestinians launched fireworks and threw stones right inside the building. The police used stun grenades, poison gas and rubber bullets. As a result, about 400 people were detained.

On the night of April 9, hundreds of people barricaded themselves in the mosque. The police arrived at the scene, preparing to disperse them. The Jordanian Foreign Ministry said Israel “continues to violate the historical and legal status quo of mosques” and “the right of Muslims to perform their religious rites during this holy month. [Рамадан]”. The department urged to avoid the forced evacuation of people hiding inside the mosque.
