The court sent Daria Trepova to the pre-trial detention center, who handed over to Vladlen Tatarsky a statuette with a bomb that killed him

The Basmanny Court of Moscow granted the request of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation to elect a preventive measure for Daria Trepova in the form of arrest for two months – until June 2.

At the request of the investigation, the meeting was closed to the press. Trepova’s lawyer is Daniil Berman, who was supposed to defend The Wall Street Journal journalist Evan Gershkovich, who was arrested for espionage, at a hearing on choosing a preventive measure for him, but was not allowed into the courtroom.

As noted in the press service of the court, according to the investigation, “on April 2, 2023, Trepova, following the instructions of persons acting from the territory of Ukraine, brought a figurine filled with explosives to a cafe in the center of St. under the pseudonym Vladlen Tatarsky. The military commander died from the explosion, 40 people were injured.

Daria Trepova is accused of committing crimes under paragraph “b” of part 2 of article 205 and part 4 of art. 222.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The maximum punishment determined by law is life imprisonment.
