Patently Apple: Apple has patented AirPods with a display case
Apple has patented a case for headphones with a touch screen. This is reported by Patently Apple.
Information about the invention appeared on the website of the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in April, but the company applied for registration in September 2021. According to the materials, Apple engineers proposed to build a touch display into the AirPods headphone case to control the functions of the headset.
The document describes that using the display, the user can see which song is currently playing. Also, the owner of the device gets the opportunity to switch tracks, pause music, adjust the volume level.
A separate document notes that the AirPods case would be more useful if it could control blind playback. The company’s engineers described a device with a touch mechanism with tactile feedback, with which the user could switch songs or increase and decrease the volume without taking the case out of his pocket.
At the end of March, it became known that Apple had patented a smartwatch with a built-in camera. The patent description says that the camera would be useful for user identification, fingerprint reading, scanning QR codes.
