On Monday, April 3, at 18:00, the opening of the personal exposition of the St. Petersburg artist Mikhail Klevanny “Music of Light” will take place in the art space mArs (Marsovo Pole, 3). The exhibition, organized as part of the New Wanderers project, will last for two weeks.

Mikhail Klevanny is a bright and expressive follower of the artistic direction called the Osip Sidlin school and the Temple Wall school. His work is characterized by a free manner of writing, direct perception of the surrounding reality and the transition from non-objectivity to figurativeness. In the paintings of the author, who continues the traditions of one of the most significant schools of modern monumental painting, the rhythmic organization of space directs the viewer to the perception of the spiritual through materiality. Creating his canvases, the artist pays special attention to the interaction of the image and the picture plane.

Mikhail Klevanny’s exhibition “Music of Light” was the result of cooperation between the art space mArs and the gallery “El Sol”, represented by its curator and art critic Elena Solovieva, who spoke about the features of the formation of this exposition: “The paintings presented at the exhibition demonstrate the amazing possibilities of the author in his work with color range. Some of them are frescoes, made with a predominance of light and cold tones, while others are distinguished by dense colors and are filled with warmth. The themes of Mikhail Klevanny’s works are also deeply diverse: these are genre scenes, still life, and paintings imbued with music. A separate line in the artist’s work is the biblical theme, which he originally realized and transferred to the picture plane. And, of course, portraits that reflect not so much the external image as the inner world of the person being portrayed.

Mikhail Konstantinovich Klevanny was born in 1974. The creative path of the painter began in 1991 in the studio at the Palace of Culture. Shchelgunov under the direction of Yuri Nashivchnikov and Vladimir Ustinsky. He was a member of the Temple Wall School. Member of the Creative Union of Artists IFA. Member of the 4th floor studio. Participant of collective and personal exhibitions.

Entrance to the exhibition is free.
