The journalist is one of the most recognizable women practicing this profession in Poland. She has been associated with the TVN station since 2006, when on TVN Style she started hosting “Social Magiel” together with Tomasz Kin. From 2014, she became the only host of the popular show, and in 2017, the last episode was broadcast.
In addition, she was also a juror in the first two editions of “Top Model”, and hosted such programs as: “Sława” on TVN Style and “DKF” on TVN Fabula. She left the station at the end of 2018. Currently, she is the hostess of “Film news+” in Canal+, “Kina na podstutu” in Antyradio, and since December 2022 she also runs her own podcast “Pierwsza Młodość”.
Karolina Korwin-Piotrowska: I wanted to be able to take responsibility for myself
Karolina Korwin-Piotrowska was the last guest in the refreshed program “”, in which she told about the reasons and the background of leaving TVN. In her statement, she did not fail to mention the former head of the station, Edward Miszczak, who currently works at Polsat:
I’m the one who left. It was a big surprise. To this day I have a saved text message from Edward Miszczak. (…) I was making »Magiel«, which I gave up because the formula was exhausted. I felt that there was less and less room for me. I thought: you will sit in the corner and wait for Edward Miszczak to say “I’ll give you some software”, he used to say so often. And I didn’t want ‘some programmer’, I wanted to be able to be responsible for myself.
The journalist also confessed how TVN’s schedule conferences looked like from her perspective. It turned out that she often went to the hospital for them, which was caused by severe migraines. Korwin-Piotrowska also emphasized that in the past she was less assertive than now:
I was always lucky in misfortune that I was practically the last to leave these conferences, because there was a queue to see me. I knew, because it was my unwritten agreement with TVN, that I do not give a thousand interviews, but I am available at conferences and do my job there. I went straight from the conference to the emergency room. Total migraine, drips, body was saying no, no, no. (…) I was given drips in both hands to survive. My body said stop, but I’m a good girl. And if I promise I will, I’ll fuck myself, and I will.
In the program, she also referred to media conflicts with other people. The greatest attention is paid to her response to the words of Katarzyna Skrzynecka, who strongly criticized Korwin-Piotrowska in 2022 when she published the book “Everyone knew”. The journalist discussed traumatic stories related to mobbing in Polish film and theater schools. According to the celebrity, Korwin-Piotrowska wrote this book only for profit, and by running programs about stars for many years, she will not be credible as “the face of the anti-hate campaign”.
