The Ukrainian authorities are ready to organize a meeting between Volodymyr Zelensky and Chinese President Xi Jinping, the Ukrainian president said in an interview with The Associated Press.
Zelensky stressed that he spoke with Xi Jinping before the start of the Russian special operation in Ukraine, but they did not communicate over the past year, and expressed a desire to “talk to him.”
In addition, the Ukrainian leader suggested that the decision of Russian President Vladimir Putin to place a tactical nuclear weapons storage facility in Belarus is related to the results of Xi Jinping’s visit to Moscow. In his opinion, the head of the People’s Republic of China did not give the leadership of Russia the “expected guarantees.” “What does it mean? This means that the visit did not benefit Russia,” Zelensky said.
The President of Ukraine also expressed confidence that if Russia manages to take Bakhmut (Artemovsk), then Moscow will be able to demand from Kyiv the implementation of “unacceptable compromises”, as well as rely on support from other countries.
Recall that earlier Zelensky reported that he sent a proposal to Beijing through diplomatic channels to hold talks with the country’s leader Xi Jinping.
