The player underwent the procedure in Minas Gerais by doctor Rodrigo Lasmar, the team’s doctor, who has already operated on other players such as Neymar and Philippe Coutinho. The procedure was successful and Royal is now recovering with his family.
Although recovery for the procedure takes about 3 to 6 weeks, Emerson Zulu, the player’s father and manager, claims that Royal can recover in less time due to his genetics.
“The surgery went well, it was really the meniscus. Recovery normally can take up to six weeks, but due to Royal’s genetics, I believe he will recover soon. On Monday he will be back in England”, explained Zulu.
In the current season, Tottenham only dispute the English Championshipafter elimination in Champions League and national cups. The Brazilian full-back could return at the end of the season to help the London side finish in the Premier League at the top.
