DDT concerts in St. Petersburg and Moscow, scheduled for May and June of this year, respectively, have been canceled – they are postponed indefinitely for reasons beyond the control of the band and the organizers. It is reported by RBC.

The concert in St. Petersburg was supposed to take place on May 27 at the Gazprom Arena, and the performance at the capital’s Otkritie Bank Arena was scheduled for June 17. Delovoy Peterburg writes that ticket holders received messages from Yandex.Afisha about the postponement of performances to 2024.

The publication notes that the group was supposed to perform in St. Petersburg in October 2020, but then the concert was prevented by the coronavirus pandemic. The concert was scheduled for September 24, 2022, but after that it was postponed to May 27, 2023 – also for reasons beyond the control of the group and the organizers. The new date coincided with the celebration of the 320th anniversary of St. Petersburg.

The performance in Moscow was also canceled due to the pandemic, later it was scheduled for June 10 last year, but the concert did not take place. According to DDT leader Yuri Shevchuk, the organizers did not receive permission from the city authorities because of an administrative case initiated against him to discredit the army. At that time, the court had not made a final decision in the case.

Protocol under Art. 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses on discrediting the Armed Forces against the leader of DDT was drawn up after a concert in Ufa on May 18. On stage, Shevchuk made an anti-war appeal and spoke about his understanding of the word “motherland”. In mid-August, a Ufa court found Shevchuk guilty and fined him 50,000 rubles.

After that, the musician said that DDT “cannot give concerts in Russia yet,” since it is on the list of banned groups. The Kremlin said it was unaware of any blacklists of musicians banned from performing in Russia.
