A bomb threat was reported to a New York court, where a hearing was held in the case of former US President Donald Trump. It is reported by Interfax with reference to Bloomberg.
The bomb threat came just as a judge in Lower Manhattan was about to begin hearing New York Attorney General Letitia James v. Donald Trump for $250 million.
It is noted that the court building was temporarily closed, it was searched.
Court spokesperson Lucian Chalfen said the threat was found to be unfounded.
Last September, the New York Attorney General filed a lawsuit against Trump and his three children, accusing them of commercial fraud.
James said that Trump “falsely inflated his fortune by billions of dollars” and, along with former Trump Organization executives Allen Weisselberg and Jeffrey McConnie, “manipulated asset values to induce banks to lend to the Trump Organization on better terms.”
The Attorney General’s Office is seeking a $250 million monetary fine and a permanent ban on Trump and his children Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump, and Eric Trump from holding a directorship or other management position in any corporation registered or licensed in the state.
Also, the supervisory agency asks to ban the former head of the White House and the Trump Organization from participating in the acquisition of real estate in New York or applying for loans in any state financial institutions for five years.
