An earthquake of magnitude 5.2 has been registered in eastern Turkey, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center.
Tremors occurred at a distance of 133 km northwest of Sanliurfa and 11 km south of the city of Malatya. The depth of occurrence of the source was 5 km.
Turkey’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority reported an earthquake in Malatya Province, with a magnitude of 5.6. The head of the organization, Yunus Sezer, said on his social media page that the management teams were “on alert” after the earthquake was registered. No damage or casualties have been reported at this time.
