Hungarian President Katalin Novak called on her American counterpart Joe Biden to peacefully resolve the conflict in Ukraine. It is reported by TASS.
The head of state said that the day before, she exchanged views with the American leader during his meeting with the leaders of nine countries of Central and Eastern Europe in Warsaw.
“I spoke with the American president and stressed that peace is needed as soon as possible, the Hungarians want peace,” Novak wrote on her page on the social network. She supplemented the publication with photographs of her meeting with Biden during the Warsaw summit of the Bucharest Nine (Bulgaria, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Estonia).
The Hungarian government has repeatedly stated that, in its opinion, the possibility of achieving peace in Ukraine largely depends on the position of the United States, which provides the main political and military support to this country. Budapest believes that negotiations on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict should go not only between Moscow and Kiev, but also between Moscow and Washington.
