The wife of Hollywood star Bruce Willis revealed the diagnosis of the 67-year-old artist.
According to Willis’ wife, her husband has been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (known as FTD).
“For people under 60, FTD is the most common form of dementia, and because it can take years to get a diagnosis, FTD is probably much more common than we know. Today there is no cure for this disease. We hope that this reality can change in the coming years,” said Emma Heming.
Recall that about a year ago, Bruce Willis announced his retirement from the profession after completing a number of film projects. The reason for this decision of the actor was the development of aphasia, due to which speech and cognitive abilities are impaired. It was assumed that these are the consequences of an injury on the set received 20 years ago. However, as the doctors found out, this symptomatology was a manifestation of FTD.
During his acting career, Willis created more than 150 roles, including in the films: “Death Becomes Her”, “In Striking Distance”, “A Loaded Weapon”, “Pulp Fiction”, “The Twelve Monkeys”, “The Fifth Element”, ” Jackal”, “The Sixth Sense”, “Kid”, “Hart’s War”, “Sin City”, “Surrogates”, “R.E.D.”, “Time Loop”, “Glass”, and also in a series of films – militants “Die Hard”, etc.
