Hubert Urbañski quit acting and now returns in the Canal+ series. The villain game

Most know him as the host of the TVN game show “Millionaires”, but few know that he was also associated with the radio and… the world of cinema. Although it might seem that he gave up his dreams of acting by stopping his studies at the PWST in Warsaw, it turns out that he can still count on being involved in interesting productions. Soon we will see him in the second season of the series “Wolf” on Canal+.

Hubert Urbański with “Millionaires” has been associated with breaks since 1999, but he had a chance to appear on the screens earlier – also the big ones. He dreamed of becoming an actor. Today he mainly plays journalists or… himself. Now this scheme has been broken – he was in the cast of the second season of the Canal+ series. The presenter played the villain in it.

AVANTI24 OFFERS:

He wanted to become an actor. He partially changed his mind

Before he started his adventure with acting, he studied Indian philology at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the University of Warsaw. Then he tried to fight for his old dreams from his senior year and take the exam at the Acting Department of the State Higher School of Theater in Warsaw. He was accepted, but conditionally. Throughout his study period, he was exposed to numerous trials, which made him realize that this was not a satisfactory field of education for him.

Time passed. So when I was afraid that I would be too old to study at PWST, I took the exams again. I was admitted… conditionally. All the time I was given to understand that I was accepted “overkill” and this simply effectively discouraged me from acting

– confessed Urbański in an interview with the magazine “Świat Seriali”. He did not take the diploma exam because of the words of Adam Ferency, who conducted the classes. He interrupted his studies in 1994, having only participated in “White Collapse”.

We were preparing an etude. He told me that the more I try to play poignantly, the funnier the effect. Here was the problem. After all, a lover cannot be comical or embarrassing in his ineptitude.

the presenter explained. Later, however, he had a chance to play in several productions, mainly series. Urbanski we could see m.in. in “Na Wspólnej”, “Father Mateusz”, “For good and for bad” or “Kasia and Tomek”. Now he has been engaged in Polish production again.

“It feels great to play the bad guy”

The second season of “Wolf”, produced by Canal+ and Papaya Films, directed by Jan Dybus, has already been released on Canal+ Online. The series focuses on representatives of the young generation who want to create the future together on their own terms and have a real impact on the reality around them. The conflict of generations also plays an important role here. An example is the relationship between Minister Borys, played by Hubert Urbański and Iga (played by Waleria Gorobets – known, among others, from “Apokawixy”). Due to his support for the totalitarian system, he does not understand the values of his daughter.

AVANTI24 OFFERS:

When the creators of the series came to me with an offer to play in “Wolf”, I actually had no doubts. First of all, after watching the first season, which made an impression on me. Although I admit that reading this non-obvious story and knowing about the very interesting form of the series, I would agree anyway.

Urbanski said. He also revealed that playing a character disliked by viewers is an interesting experience. “It feels great to play the bad guy,” he admitted.

The second season of “The Wolf” is unrelated to the previous one – it tells a completely new story. In addition to Hubert Urbański, we will see mainly actors of the young generation, and the first season was also attended by rapper Bedoes and internet creator Tromba.
