Often, domestic cats like to fall asleep near the owner’s pillow, no matter how you arrange “sleeping places” for them. Experts named five possible reasons for such behavior, the Belnovosti portal writes.
First, cats may seek out the warmest places to sleep. In sunny weather, they settle on the windowsills, and in winter – near the battery or computer. They find the same comfort next to the owner.
In addition, a cat may like the owner’s smell – which is associated with a source of care and affection. It is not surprising that the cat tries to stay close to the owner even at night.
Also, the reason may be the desire of the cat to feel safe, especially during sleep. The owner’s pillow seems to the pet the safest place, and the presence of a person nearby is a guarantee of protection.
The desire to sleep closer may indicate that the cat lacks attention and wants to spend as much time with the owner as possible. This is especially true for pets that are left alone all day.
And finally, the cat may believe that the owner is her property, which means that she must not lose sight of him, day or night.
One way or another, whatever the reason, we can conclude that a cat will not sleep next to a person who is unpleasant to her or does not matter to her.
