In Dombay, rescuers evacuated 36 tourists stuck on a cable car

The chairlift stopped at the Dombay ski resort in Karachay-Cherkessia (KChR), rescuers evacuated more than 30 tourists, none of them were injured. This is reported by TASS with reference to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the region.

“At 13:00 on February 12, 2023, the operational duty shift of the Crisis Control Center of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the KChR received a message that the line had stopped in the village of Dombay on the 5th stage of the cableway. Chairlifts are double, open type. According to preliminary data, 36 people remained on the line. Thanks to the well-coordinated and efficient work of all involved services, vacationers were evacuated from the rope line, none of them were injured, ”the ministry said in a statement.

As noted, 15 specialists participated in the work, three pieces of equipment were involved. A brigade of the Karachay-Cherkess emergency rescue service, employees of the Dombai search and rescue unit of the KCh PSO EMERCOM of Russia, as well as a group of the Karachay local fire and rescue garrison were involved in the rescue of vacationers.
