Matteo Moschetti (Q.36.5 Pro Cycling Team) achieved victory in the 36th edition of the Clásica de Almeríaheld this Sunday, February 12, on a 190.3-kilometer circuit starting in Puebla de Vícar and finishing in Roquetas de Mar.
The Italian Moschetti won the sprint after overtake Arnaud De Lie (Lotto Dstiny) and Jordi Meeus (Bora-hansgrohe)second and third respectively.
The breakaway of the day was formed at kilometer 12, when Luis Angel Maté (Euskaltel-Euskadi), Eugenio Sanchez (Kern Pharma) and sander de pestel (Flanders-Baloise) jumped out of the peloton. They came to have an advantage of up to seven minutes, but the escape ended with 56 kilometers to go.
In the final stretch, several teams took turns at the head of the peloton to try to get a cut to form with the wind; However, none of that happened, the victory was decided by the sprint and Moschetti was the best in the final meters.
On the other hand, Luis Angel Maté took the prize of the mountain and Eugenio Sánchez the general of intermediate sprints.
