CNE installs public hearing to scrutinize the 2023 referendum and election of CPCCS councilors

The National Electoral Council (CNE), this February 11, installed the national public hearing to scrutinize the 2023 referendum and the election of the councilors of the Council for Citizen Participation and Social Control (CPCCS).

At the hearing, the electoral authorities indicated that they will proceed with the examination of the tally sheets drawn up by the electoral provinces and special foreign boards.

On Saturday night, it was said that there are 17 provinces of the country that concluded with the processing of the scrutiny records of the eight questions of the referendum, as well as the records of the CPCCS, where three female councilors, three male councilors and one Councilor representing Peoples and Nationalities and Ecuadorians abroad.

CNE concludes the processing of tally sheets in 16 provinces of the country

The provinces in which the scrutiny concluded are the following: El Oro, Azuay, Bolívar, Cañar, Carchi, Cotopaxi, Chimborazo, Galapagos, Imbabura, Napo, Orellana, Pastaza, Tungurahua, Santa Elena, Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, Sucumbíos and Zamora Chinchipe.

Once the national scrutiny has concluded, the number of valid votes obtained in each question of the referendum will be computed, as well as in the election of the CPCCS advisers, so that the CNE can proclaim the definitive results of the vote expressed by Ecuadorians, on the 5th of February.

The hearing was suspended at 8:30 p.m., since there were no more reports from the provincial electoral boards. (YO)
