Information was requested from the FPF when it became known that the announced soccer matches were not broadcast live. Fine would be up to S/3 million 465,000.
The Technical Secretariat of the Commission for the Control of Unfair Competition (CCD) of Indecopi ex officio initiated a preliminary investigation for misleading advertising, after learning that The Betsson 2023 League 1 football matches announced by the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) would not have been broadcast live.
Thus, they asked the organization chaired by AgustÃn Lozano for information on the advertisements broadcast and the agreements with the authorized television channels, in order to verify their veracity and that they comply with the provisions of the Law for the Repression of Unfair Competition (Decree Legislative No. 1044).
Indecopi recalled that providers and advertisers must ensure that they have all the support for the advertising they regularly broadcast. If these alleged violations are verified, the FPF would be fined up to 700 UIT (an equivalent to S/3 million 465,000).
