One person was murdered and another was injured on the night of this Thursday, the 11th after a hitman-style attack registered outside a food outlet, on 20th Street and 24th Avenue, in Manta.
A subject came walking to that place to attack the two people who were eating there, according to witnesses.
Pablo Ramírez, Zone 4 Police Commander, pointed out that the deceased was Gabriel Zambrano Macías, 35, who worked with the wounded man, identified as Emilio B.
“He is a person (Emilio B.) who, as you may know, is a protected witness, I cannot give more information, however, we are conducting the corresponding investigations,” said Ramírez.
At the scene, the police raised ten 9-millimeter ballistic evidence and also checked security cameras in the sector to find out who was responsible for the attack, which killed one person.
Emilio B. was identified in 2011 as responsible for the death of a North American citizen in Manta, he went to prison, but four years later he was released.
Ramírez indicated that this is the 163rd crime so far in 2021 in Manabí, of which 55% have already been solved. (I)
