A young man was injured with rubber bullets to the head by anti-socials to take away his belongings inside a bus on line 63, on Francisco de Orellana avenue, near Vergeles-Orquídeas, in the north of Guayaquil.
The event occurred at 7:40 p.m. near a supermarket in that sector and caused great commotion among the passengers and witnesses who were waiting for transportation at that time of night.

According to uniforms from the Orquídeas circuit, the young man was on the bus and when he was intimidated by the subjects, he clung to his belongings, for which the antisocials shot him with a traumatic weapon and fled.
Second Lieutenant Daniela Enríquez, from the Orquídeas circuit, explained that there are many cases in which antisocials use these types of weapons to avoid high penalties when they are prosecuted, since they are classified as “non-lethal weapons.”

He added that despite being rubber bullets, the detonation is just as if it were a firearm projectile, so the victims are scared and agree to give up their belongings.
The injured young man was identified as Pablo Valenzuela, 20, who was taken to the UPC and later assisted by an ambulance from the Fire Department. He was stable.
Merchants in that area indicated that at night it is dangerous since there are antisocials who get on the buses to tear off the passengers’ belongings. (YO)
