The US Treasury Department has placed on the sanctions list members of the board of directors of the Iranian company Paravar Pars, which produces drones. The corresponding statement was published by the press service of the department.
According to the statement, the US Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control has added eight senior executives to the roster of Paravar Pars, which has previously been under United States and European Union sanctions for producing Shahed-series drones for the IRGC, an elite part of the Iranian military.
“Iranian enterprises continue to produce UAVs for the Iranian IRGC [Корпуса стражей Исламской революции] and armed forces,” the statement said. The Finance Ministry also noted that, more broadly, Iran is also supplying drones to Russia for strikes against “Ukraine’s critical infrastructure.”
On January 31, Washington imposed export restrictions on seven Iranian companies for producing drones that the US believes are being used by Russian forces in Ukraine.
The Russian and Iranian authorities denied these accusations.
