Investigating agents from the Prosecutor’s Office and the National Police intervened in the offices of a travel agency in the north of Quito.
In this operator, according to the Prosecutor’s Office, they would have made the sale of tours to the Qatar 2022 World Cup and “failed to comply with what was offered.”
The clients were supposedly offered a visa, air tickets, lodging, mobilization, tours and also tickets to the national team matches. Indications were raised at the intervened site.
The entity explained that the injured parties would have paid amounts between $15,000 to $25,000 for traveling to the sports competition held between November and December of the previous year.
For now, the Prosecutor’s Office is investigating this case as an alleged massive scam. There are still no detainees within this stage of investigations.
Last November, a group of Ecuadorian fans denounced the case of a travel agency that had informed them of the cancellation of the offered tour. This company claimed to be the victim of a supplier. (YO)
