Attack with explosives caused damage to the facade of a house in the Juan Montalvo cooperative; fact would be related to extortion

In the early hours of this Wednesday, February 1, the detonation of an explosive device disturbed the tranquility of the residents of the Juan Montalvo cooperative, in the northwest of Guayaquil.

Preliminarily it was known that two men who were traveling in a car placed blocks of dynamite outside a house, which caused damage to the facade of the house.

The explosion was heard up to a Community Police Unit (UPC) and agents managed to intercept the car that was going at speed with the two suspects on board. One of them has a record for illegal association.

For now, the vehicle is retained at the police headquarters and the apprehended will be transferred to the Model Barracks for the respective hearing. A bottle of fuel and several pamphlets were found in the car, evidence that will be prosecuted.

The vehicle belongs to a relative of one of the detainees and would have adulterated license plates, the television station reported. ecuavisa.
