A woman tried to flee after a shooting began against a red vehicle. The driver, a man of Venezuelan nationality, died behind the wheel.
The woman was left lying on the ground a few meters in front of the car, at the entrance of a store.
Commander Fabary Montalvo, deputy chief of Zone 8 (Guayaquil, Durán and Samborondón), explained that the persecution against the suspects began on Juan Tanca Marengo avenue.
The subjects carried three firearms, and it was also verified that the vehicle in which they were arrested was stolen a month ago, in Urdesa.
“The owners of the vehicle are already making contact with the units for the procedures,” added the police chief.
Montalvo also reported that the vehicle in which the deceased couple was traveling had a cloned license plate. The true identity belonged to a car from Manta.
At the scene of the shooting, the police found 13 ballistic evidence, the same ones that have been placed in chain of custody to the Prosecutor’s Office. (YO)
