The United States is ready to ease sanctions against Russia for the sake of “serious negotiations” on Ukraine and the withdrawal of Russian troops from there. This statement was made by Deputy Head of the US State Department Victoria Nuland.

According to her, in the context of the Russian decision to conduct “serious negotiations” and withdraw its forces from Ukraine, as well as “return the territories”, she would “welcome the easing of sanctions,” Kommersant writes.

Nuland stressed that Secretary of State Anthony Blinken is in the same position.

In addition, Nuland noted that the United States will not have time to send Abrams tanks to Ukraine by spring.

Earlier it became known that Washington included in the sanctions list, in particular, Deputy Prime Minister and head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov, head of the Federal Penitentiary Service Arkady Gostev, head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.

In turn, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that he was not interested in meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin and negotiating with him to resolve the conflict. Zelensky allowed a peaceful settlement only in the event of the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukrainian territories.
