People’s Artist of Russia Dmitry Nazarov, who was recently fired from the Moscow Art Theater. Chekhov, lost his role in the film based on the novel by Ilf and Petrov “12 chairs”.

According to StarHit, in the film, the artist was supposed to play the role of Kisa Vorobyaninov, and Dmitry Nagiyev was intended to embody the image of the great schemer Ostap Bender.

“The project is now on pause, the question arose with the replacement of the artist. Dmitry Nazarov will not remain in the film – no one wants to take risks. I don’t want to rest on some personal relationship, but I am a patriot of my country, and of course, I’m not happy with everything that happened, ”said the director of the film, Petr Zelenov.

According to him, investors also opposed Nazarov’s participation in the film.

The picture was scheduled for filming in 2019, but the pandemic has made adjustments to the plans of the film crew. “Now we are trying to get government funding for this project, and I hope everything works out,” the director said.

Recall that the artist Dmitry Nazarov, as well as his colleague and wife Olga Vasilyeva, were recently fired from the Moscow Art Theater. The reason given by the media was their public statements, in particular, on the subject of NVO, as well as “anti-Russian sentiments.”
