Two men were killed inside the Portoviejo tolerance center

A shooting that resulted in the death of two people took place inside a tolerance center in the Colón parish, in the Portoviejo canton.

According to police reports, on Monday night, two subjects entered the center to attack a citizen, who was in the company of four other people.

In his escape from the site, in the middle of a crossroads of bullets, the alleged hit man was also affected and died on the site.

“The moment the escape of this hitman begins, upon seeing the reaction of the companions of the first victim, apparently there is a crossfire that cannot be observed by technological means, the second hitman (the companion) proceeds to shoot and the man falls. who victimized the first victim,” said Patricio Almendariz, commander of the Manabí sub-zone, to the local Manabí media.

The alleged hitman’s companion managed to escape on a motorcycle, the police chief said.

Six ballistic evidence was found at the site: five percussive shells and a deformed shell of a 9-mm caliber weapon.

In addition, after reviewing the evidence and other vestiges, the bodies that remained inside the business were removed.

Police personnel carried out a series of operations to find the second individual involved in this violent act. For now, the gendarmes managed to find the whereabouts of the motorcycle that was used in the escape.

The police chief regretted that the violent act occurred inside the establishment, despite the presence of a private guard and monitoring through a video surveillance system. “The rapid action taken by these victimizers did not give him the opportunity to react in a timely manner,” he added.

The bodies were taken to the morgue after several hours. (YO)
