A murder occurred Thursday afternoon inside a commercial warehouse in Vinces. In that place, Mercy López was murdered.
The 46-year-old woman was on the premises when her partner arrived, pulled out a gun and shot her. The woman was left lying in that establishment.
The alleged femicide occurred after noon on the streets 9 de Octubre and Córdova, in Vinces (Los Ríos).

After shooting, the man left the premises and advanced about 100 meters. According to witness accounts, the man attempted suicide. He shot himself in the face and was wounded on the road.
The attacker was identified as Ángel Murillo, 49 years old. He was transferred to the Nicolás Cotto Infante hospital, but due to the seriousness of the injuries he was sent to Guayaquil.
