The best series – Netflix. I watched it, I like it, I recommend it

How many series does it offer? I found data from two years ago that says over a thousand. It’s no wonder that sometimes it takes us longer to browse the menu and select a title than to watch. There is also the other side of the coin – although the library is large, we are not able to see the whole thing – the algorithm quickly learns what to suggest to a given user, so sometimes an interesting proposition passes us by.

The best Netflix series? These undemanding, but also not stupid, to improve your mood

Nobody wants to waste time on bad TV series, especially when they have so little time that they haven’t seen all the praised ones around (admittedly, the screening of “Wielka Woda” is still ahead of me). That’s why we decided to share our experience in the editorial office and make lists that, in our opinion, will include the best series offered by Netflix. So not necessarily ambitious and rewarded, but for sure those that we have seen and that we like and/or value (and that we remember). For me – in the first part of the cycle – the order will be alphabetical:

  • “The Bridgertons” – yes, I know, it’s not an artistic cinema, but a really well-made guilty pleasure series. Who of us doesn’t like to “refuse ourselves”, improve our mood and see some hot scenes at the same time? The Bridgertons don’t pretend to be anything more than a slightly higher-end soap opera, only in costume. The script has little to do with reality, but once you start watching, it absorbs easily.
  • I’m not one of those people who save up for months to go to a Michelin star restaurant, but I watched the documentary series with appetite “chef’s table”. In each episode, the filmmakers tell the story of one chef who, with ambition, commitment and passion, led to the creation of a unique place with a unique cuisine. Even if you don’t fully understand all their sacrifices and choices, you watch with interest.
  • Once upon a time, I wouldn’t have thought of myself watching fantasy, but you know, “Game of Thrones” appeared, which at the beginning was a series about politics, but with dragons. “Shadow and Bone” is also a film adaptation of books, but more for “young adults”. If you know “The Hunger Games”, then this production is definitely closer to them than to the HBO hit. Here we have a young girl who turns out to be the “chosen one”, we have a love triangle, war and magic. And Ben Barnes, who, by assuming the role of General Kirigan, fulfilled – as I learned after the premiere – the long-term dreams of thousands of fans who, since the filming of “The Chronicles of Narnia”, simply adore the actor and repeatedly said on the web that he would be perfect in this role. And indeed it is.
  • I really like a good stand up, so I can’t resist recommending some under the guise of the best Netflix series. Cycle “Daniel Sloss Live” these are two episodes released in 2018. Speaking of one of them, a Scottish comedian says that he contributed to over 120,000 breakups, 300 divorces and hundreds of broken engagements. So you watch at your own risk.
  • Eight half-hour episodes of the series “heart stopper” I’ve watched three times already. The production always makes me feel better, because although there are also difficult moments in it, the overtone is comforting. It’s such a warm series about young love (although from what I’ve heard, the second season is supposed to be a little darker – the script is based on an extremely popular graphic novel). I am very impressed by the two young actors who play teenagers, really themselves – and this is rare in this type of production – being teenagers. Joe Locke and Kit Connor are 18-19 years old, cute and very, very talented. As for the best series that Netflix has on offer when it comes to the teenage ones, I also recommend “Sex Education” and my latest discovery – “Ginny & Georgia”.
  • Until recently, I didn’t know why “The Office” is a phenomenon and the most watched Netflix series in the United States. When he introduced it to his Amazon Prime Video offer a few years ago, I understood and became a faithful fan. Now the story of the employees of the paper trading company can also be watched on Netflix, and I recommend giving it a try to anyone who likes to laugh. Be warned, most reviewers think the real thrill starts in the second season, but the first one is good too, and it’s only six short episodes, it goes by in a flash.
  • Creators “The Ranch” I appreciate a few things – first of all, they managed to make a funny – but not mocking – and at the same time wise series about people with whom series usually do not go along. The heroes are cattle breeders who vote for the Republicans and spend every free moment with a beer in their hand. Secondly, the chemistry between the cast members was great here, the father-son duo of Sam Elliott and Ashton Kutcher is great. Thirdly, when there were allegations of rape against Danny Masterson, who played one of the main roles in it, the writers and producers immediately reacted. Even at the price of a certain drop in quality.
  • The toys that made usas well as a branch “The movies that made us”, are hours of trivia and return to childhood. Brian Volk-Weiss’ documentary debuted in 2017 with episodes focusing on Star Wars toys, Barbie, He-Man and GI Joe. Then came stories about Hello Kitty, My Little Pony and movie classics such as “Home Alone”, “Dirty Dancing”, “Alien” or “Die Hard”. The fascinating world of money-making entertainment is introduced in each episode by people who are really connected to these things: cartoonists, designers of specific models, directors and actors. If it wasn’t for this series, I wouldn’t have known that Barbie was a doll definitely for adults, and in “Back to the Future” at the beginning time travel was supposed to take place thanks to the refrigerator. Fascinating.

  • Every month there are so many new products on Netflix that if someone is a new user or is just growing up to certain productions, he may simply not find them. For the hit miniseries “Unorthodox” from 2020, it would be a great loss. The fascinating story of a woman who stands out for independence by escaping from the orthodox community of New York Jews to Berlin, is based on facts. I read the book, it’s very good, but in my opinion the writers have made an even better series. The main role is played by the eye-catching Shira Has, and Deborah Feldman, whose story is told in “Unorthodox”, appears in a small role as a saleswoman.

  • “Wednesday” is a series that wins the title of the most surprising series of 2022 for me. I’ve never been a huge Addams Family fan, but Tim Burton and Jenna Ortega made me a Wednesday superfan. This is great entertainment, aesthetically refined in every detail, and Ortega and the rest of the young actors play here in such a way that you can’t take your eyes off. This is definitely not a series to watch while scrolling through social media on your phone. It would be a pity to miss the flavors prepared by the creators!
