The strong precipitations registered in several sectors of the Ecuadorian Sierra are felt in Carchi. In that northern province there was a landslide that resulted in the death of two people; It happened in the La Posta sector, in San Gabriel, 40 km from Tulcán.
In a statement, ECU911 reported people trapped on the Pan-American Highway, at the southern exit of the city of San Gabriel. Faced with the emergency, relief organizations moved to the place with the purpose of providing assistance to the citizens affected by the landslide.

The Zone 1 Risk Management Secretariat confirmed the death of two people and reported that, once the fact was known, firefighters, health personnel, among others, arrived at the scene of the events.
These are two workers from a private company that carried out the work of the wastewater treatment plant, who at that time were working in a ditch, carrying out the construction of a sanitary interceptor.
The force of the rains of the last few days caused the ground to give way, which left the two men buried, according to one of the residents of the place.
