King Charles III and Queen Camilla do not share a bed every night, despite a solid relationship spanning more than two decades, according to Radar Online. The couple keeps three bedrooms at their official residence in London: one for the king, one for Camilla, and a third for the nights they choose to sleep together.

A source close to the royal family said the decision is tied exclusively to health and comfort. At 77, Charles continues to suffer pain from old injuries dating back to when he played polo, and he needs specific conditions to be able to rest.

Health reasons behind the arrangement
The source said the king has long known these injuries could flare up again, and that the way the bedrooms are arranged is meant to guarantee maximum comfort and preserve his rest. The source added that the setup is much more practical than symbolic.

Marriage remains close, source says
The source insisted the routine does not affect the couple's relationship. Charles and Camilla have been married since 2005. The marriage is defined by closeness, not distance, the source said, adding that when someone has lived for years with back pain, having the right space to sleep and recover makes all the difference.

Charles continuing cancer treatment
Beyond the physical injuries, the king continues to be monitored for the cancer he was diagnosed with in February 2024. He recently said he is responding positively to treatment, but he has not announced that he is fully recovered.
