Greece’s Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis said there was no cause for concern about the functioning of health services in areas affected by the large wildfire burning in Western Attica.
Georgiadis made the remarks in a post following visits to local units of the national health system, known as ESY. He said operations were proceeding smoothly and that staff remained on heightened alert to handle any incidents linked to the fires.
The minister said the ESY was ready for any eventuality and that no problems had been reported in the functioning of health facilities. There was also no sign of increased pressure from fire-related cases.
