Germany's Bundeswehr has deployed a special electronic warfare unit to Lithuania along the border with Belarus, Euronews reported.
According to the report, German soldiers in Lithuania are monitoring the electromagnetic space and intercepting signals from radio and radar systems.
Round-the-clock monitoring
Near the Belarusian border, the unit carries out continuous data interception, frequency monitoring and decryption of communication signals. The data is sent to a joint NATO coordination center.
The special unit's truck-based positions are camouflaged, and dismounted electronic warfare special forces groups have also been deployed in the border zone. Soldiers carry 30-kilogram backpack systems that allow them to set up operational communications where no infrastructure exists.
Belarus buildup on Ukraine border
It was previously reported that Belarus is forming a 37th separate air assault brigade on its border with Ukraine, according to Alexander Ilyukevich, commander of the special operations forces of the country's armed forces.
