English actress Florence Pugh is planning to take a break from acting after admitting that she previously pushed herself to the limits of exhaustion.

Speaking in an interview with Spanish magazine Elle, the 30-year-old actor explained that she needs to slow down her career pace in order to return with greater energy and continue working successfully in the future.
Pugh said that taking care of herself was a simple matter of allowing herself space to breathe. She revealed that although she had stated for a long time that she needed to slow down, she had never actually taken the steps to do so until now.
Reflecting on her previous working schedule, Pugh explained that she ended up exhausting herself by constantly pushing her limits. She noted that she is now allocating more time to her family and friends, adding that success for her now means having learned when to stop.
Demanding roles and career recovery
The actor emphasized that taking time away from filming is essential to recharge her batteries before she can continue accepting demanding film roles. Prioritizing rest and personal relationships has become a central focus of her current lifestyle.
Pugh has built a reputation as one of the most prominent actors of her generation, earning critical acclaim and an Academy Award nomination for her role in Little Women. Her career has spanned intense psychological dramas such as Midsommar alongside major blockbuster franchises.
Upcoming film releases in 2026
Despite her decision to step back, Pugh maintains a major screen presence this year across several high-profile feature films. She recently starred in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which has already surpassed two billion dollars in worldwide box office receipts.
Her busy schedule continues later this year with several major releases scheduled to arrive in movie theatres in December, including Avengers: Doomsday, Dune: Part Three, and East of Eden.
