Georgia, the 14-year-old daughter of actor Eric Dane, is set to make her Hollywood debut alongside her mother, actress Rebecca Gayheart, six months after Dane's death.
According to TV Insider, Georgia stars with Gayheart in the upcoming film "The Ocean Between Them," a survival drama directed by Gabriel Correa. Georgia plays Ashley, the younger daughter of the character Joan, who is played by Gayheart.
The film's plot centers on Joan, who launches a desperate search for her older daughter, Miranda, played by Jessica Lord, after Miranda becomes trapped at sea in a kayak following a sudden storm. The movie is scheduled to premiere on September 26.
Filming in Belize
According to the same reports, filming for "The Ocean Between Them" took place from May to June of this year in Belize, in Central America.
Eric Dane was known for roles including Dr. Mark Sloan on "Grey's Anatomy" and Cal Jacobs on "Euphoria." He died earlier this year after suffering from ALS, also known as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, a progressive disease that affects nerve cells controlling muscle movement.
A difficult year for Georgia
In June, Georgia graduated from middle school. Gayheart shared the news on Instagram, posting a photograph from the ceremony and referring to the difficulties her daughter faced during the year, including losing her father to ALS.
In her post, Gayheart congratulated Georgia on graduating and on getting through an incredibly difficult year. She said Georgia's persistence, toughness and grace were on full display, and welcomed her to high school, adding that she had no doubt Georgia was ready and that she was so excited for her. Gayheart also noted that the photo did not show Georgia's MVP trophy for beach volleyball, closing with congratulations and telling her daughter she loved her very much.
What's next
"The Ocean Between Them" is due to premiere on September 26, marking Georgia's first credited role alongside her mother on screen.
