Elevate Ecuadorian gastronomy by promoting spaces that combine experience and haute cuisine is one of the goals of Oro Verde Hotels through its program of gastronomic experiences, scheduled in our country for 2022 and that have guest chefs from different parts of the world.
The second of those experiences was fulfilled last Thursday, May 5, from the hand of Peruvian chef José del Castillo, who offered a dinner “four hands” with Javier Urrutia, executive chef of Casa Julián. The guest was also behind the lunch-buffet at El Patio restaurant, Hotel Oro Verde Guayaquil (from May 6 to 7), and from brunch Sunday at Casa Julián (Sunday, May 8).
Jose del Castillo is a Peruvian chef and businessman who is characterized by its roots in the traditional and homemade cuisine of its country. It also has five restaurants, including Isolina-Peruvian Tavernone of the most awarded in Latin America.
“I think Casa Julián It is a great restaurant with a lot of potential.. So, As a team, we thought of a strategy to bring chefs and spread the brand abroad”, he comments Ramon Salto, executive chef of Oro Verde Hotels. “The first to come It was the Mexican chef and friend Gerardo Vázquez Lugoand it was a success, even during the pandemic, so we decided to repeat it”, he commented. “The idea, of course, is also to spread Ecuador outside the country; for this reason, we bring prestigious chefs who become ambassadors. Let them pass, that they see Ecuadorian hospitality, that things are done well, that there is a good product, that there is much to know”.
For their part, those who attend these culinary experiences they have the opportunity to learn about the cuisine of the guest chefs, their dishes and their reinterpretation of what they find in Ecuador. “Sometimes, when something is part of your daily life, it is in front of you but you don’t see it; but someone comes from outside and opens your eyes. It is a mutual experience: they learn, we learn, the public sees different thingsJump concludes.
The next gastronomic meeting will be on Thursday, June 2, with a dinner that will have as a guest the Chilean chef Giulio Sturlatogether with Javier Urrutia, executive chef of Casa Julián.
The Hacienda La Victoria will be the scene of dinner scheduled for Tuesday, July 12, with the Ecuadorian chef Alejandra Espinosa (owner of the Somos restaurant), who, together with Urrutia, will present a menu made with 100% national products.
The delegation of the Patisserie School of Barcelona will also land in our city as part of its tour of Latin America. On July 24 and 25, the interested public will be able to meet them thanks to this initiative.
