Kendrick Lamar has finally released a new track. In the video for “The Heart Part 5” he inserted, inter alia, Will Smith

After the Oscar-winning scandal when Will Smith hit Chris Rock, his film career stalled, but he reappears with Kendrick. His face has been embedded in the silhouette of the rapper using deepfake technology.

In the same way were also used, inter alia, images of Kanye West or the former athlete, (anti) hero of one of the most media murder trials in US history – OJ Simpson. The tragically deceased basketball player Kobe Bryant also appears, convicted of rigging a raid “racially motivated actor Jussie Smollett and fatally shot in 2019 rapper Nipsey Hussle.

The video is directed by Dave Free and Kendrick Lamar. In the piece you can also hear fragments of “I Want you” performed, among others, by by Marvin Gaye.

In August last year, Kendrick Lamar announced that the upcoming release will be his last album released by Top Dawg Entertainment, with which he has been associated from the beginning of his career. The rapper signed a contract as a 15-year-old, shortly after the release of his debut mixtape “YHNIC (Youngest Head Nigga In Charge)”. In 2011, TDE released Lamar’s first album “Section.80”, at the premiere of which the young rapper was already quite popular in the blogosphere and was called one of the most promising artists of the US West Coast.

Lamar has released albums on the label: “good kid, mAAd city” (2012), “To Pimp a Butterfly” (2015) and “DAMN.” (2017). The goodbye is friendly – Terrence “Punch” Henderson, head of TDE, said in a February interview with Mic that “it’s more of a willingness to build your own things than a breakup.” In 2020, Kendrick Lamar and Dave Free founded pgLang. It is under her banner that the long-awaited album “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers” will be released on May 13.

“The Heart Part 5” is the next installment of the series, which began in 2010.
