Second names. Parents’ motivations
Choosing a first name for a child is not easy. The middle name is therefore a solution for parents who cannot make up their mind or have to implement family traditions.
In our family, each boy gets a middle name after his paternal grandfather. There is nothing to discuss here, we tried
My husband chose the middle name. I did not want to agree to Hela, I agreed to this middle name
We let the grandparents choose the middle name. The negotiations were long, in the end as many as four people had to come to an agreement, but it worked
– parents asked by us comment.
Second names. The classics are still on top
Interestingly, despite different motivations, the middle name ranking still looks similar. According to the information from the website dane.gov.pl, it looks as follows:

The above data has not changed since 2019. It is an alphabetical arrangement. The popularity of individual names is growing, and in the following year it drops slightly. However, it is still the fixed ten. You can see that when choosing a middle name, parents prefer tradition.
